Star Compass
Holographic navigation device showing star charts
Overview
The Star Compass is a sophisticated navigation instrument that projects three-dimensional holographic star charts of unprecedented accuracy. When activated, it displays real-time positions of stars, planets, and celestial phenomena across multiple galaxies.
Discovery & Origin
Found aboard a derelict spacecraft drifting in the Andromeda galaxy, the Compass was the only functioning system on the vessel. The ship itself appeared to be a exploration or survey craft that ran out of power millions of years ago. The Compass maintains its own power source.
Scientific Analysis
The device updates its star charts in real-time, suggesting it remains connected to a vast network of observation satellites or can somehow directly observe stellar positions. It has identified several Earth-observable stars with data matching our telescopes, confirming its accuracy. Most intriguingly, it marks certain locations with symbols we haven't deciphered—possibly hazards or points of interest.
